dog digging in pots

Hello-My mother-in-law has a OES that I would estimate is just shy of one year.  The dog seems to enjoy digging in her flower pots.  Do you have any suggestions as to how to break him of this habit?  thanks for your time  Kris

dogs like to dig!  Best thing is to put a cover over the pot.  You could also try spraying him with a water pistol every time he does it as a deterrent, back this up with a very firm NO, but only do it if you catch him in the act or it will be useless.
