Question
I pulled a 3-4 month old border collie mix on Friday from a kill shelter, she had been in there about 1 week. She is afraid of everything.....people, and going anywhere. She doenst even wantto go outside. She seems more comfortable when my lab is around, but scares if she barks. All she wants to do is lay in the crate, even with the door open thats where she stays. She seems crate trained, never having a accident. She wont look at you either, and she wont lay on my lab, she jumps down and back to the crate she goes. I want to find her a forever home but this ones going to be tuff.

Answer
It sounds like she hasn't been around alot of situations in life-now the best thing to do is to start taking her out on little walks, even just for five minutes at a time

also to get her used to people, put a leash on her,and have a friend try and pet her,and to gain trust have the friend offer little treats while she gets petted

Eventualy you can extend her walks, and have her meeting different people, and showing her everything will be ok
