ear infection?

my female jack russells ear is excoriated from her scratching it so much there is a brownish drainage, and it looks swollen inside any ideas

Your dog might have a bacterial or yeast infection, or she might be a case of ear mites.

Ear mites feed on the lining of the ear and cause inflammation, redness, intense itching and a brown crusty discharge. A secondary bacterial infection can also result from the damage to the ears caused by the mites.

It sounds obvious that your dog is being tormented by the itch, and she might  even have ear pain. Left untreated, an ear infection could lead to deafness, so it's really important that you get your dog seen by your vet.
