Question
thanks for responding to my question nancy..you are so nice..unlike the others that i asked, they just ignored my question and replied that it is not their duty to potty train someone else's pup especially pitts..i really appreciate your response..based on what youve said, after feeding,i have to take her outside her cage every 20mins until she potty?and feed her at an earlier time? what im doing to her rightnow is after feeding her with beef pro puppy and sometimes "eukanuba when i have an extra money because the price of eukanuba here in the phils is twice the price of beef pro puppy"-i just put her on leash and tie the chains on our covered fence.and when shes already through, thats the only time that our maid (when im not yet at home because i work in a call center and my shift is from 2pm until 10pm) or me will put her on her cage.what i have observed is,she doesnt have a fix pattern on her bowel movement.sometimes, during daytime, she will potty 20-30mins after eating, sometimes it will take 2-3hrs,and will potty again.at night, she really doesnt want to potty after eating.even if i already put her on leash and tie it on our fence.and in the morning, when i wake up at 7,theres already my reward from her!will she outgrow this kind of behaviour as she grows older?i mean, doing her deeds in her cage? i also transferred her on a smaller cage(size is 2.5ftx2.5ft) because the cage where she stays right now is the cage for my rott(size is 4ft x 5ft big for her size),unfortunately, she still potty on her new home and..it may sound gross but she even step on her deeds..i'll do first what you have told me..feed her at an earlier time..nancy,can i just tie her on our fence after feeding and when shes already through pottying,i'll just ask someone to put her on her cage because i still have to go to work..will it train my pitt not to potty on her cage? or it will just confuse her?thanks a lot..i'm already desperate and no longer know what to do with my pitt.pls help me..hope to hear from you..God bless you and your family..

-----Question-----
hi nancy,i have 2 dogs in our house.1st is a rott namedbasti that i did not have any hard time training it, and a pitt bull named greta,4months of age.i'm really having a hard time potty training this pitt..she doesn't want to potty after eating.i always feed her at 12 in the afternoon and when i got home from work at around 10pm.after eating.i always take her outside  her cage, wait for 30 minutes for her to potty, but still,no traces of it..then,when i return her to her cage, that will be the time where she will potty..after that she's already out of my sight..i also tried the house breaking spray, paper training, but still no use...i saw from the other websites that pitts must be taken outside after eating, had lots of water,etc..i'm doing it but my stupid pitt keeps on doing her deeds in her cage...how can i prevent her from pottying in her cage?i bought it from my friend when it was still 2 months of age and it was not toilet trained by theprevious owner.hejust let feed thelitters and let those pups potty on their cages.now,im having a hard time breaking that wrong habit of my stupid pitt pottying on her cage..to tell you frankly,i did nothave any hardtime potty training my rott when it was thesame age as my pitt.i just take my rott outside after eating, and presto,it will do his deed outside his cage.are pitts really stubborn and hard to discipline?pls help me teach my pitt on how to potty outside her cage....

Hi Karlo..well the key is to feed the dog earlier and not put the dog in the crate until she goes. It may take 3-4 times, every 20 minutes...give the command "potty" and put her in the grass (or whatever)...when she finally goes there...praise her and pet her. also..make sure the crate is not big enough for her to potty and lay next to it..she has to learn that if she goes she will have to lay in it..( i know that sounds gross). this is going to take a while because as a pup it was ok to do this..also..let her see you praise the other dog for his good deeds outside.. good luck
nancy

Hello again...any dog food without corn as the first five ingredients will do...but...yes, sounds like you said everythign right..but you can not chain the dog up til she goes..you have to be out there and praise her yourself. I am sorry the others didnt help you..i love pitts.. nancy
