Hi Marta;
Yep, that is what he is doing, marking his territory.
Has he been neutered?
If not, it would help this problem some if you have him neutered right away, as well as being better for his health and a longer life.
How have you housetrained him?
It would help me to advise you if I know how you housebroke him, and how he is corrected for pooping in the house.
For the odro; When you scrub till humans can no longer smell it, the dog still can, so he will repeat in the smae places, and/or he will make new places.
The peeing is how he marks his territory. The pooping may just be that way you are timing taking him out.
Tell me how you are handling this now, and I can make some suggestions that will help you.

Answer
Hi Marta;
Ok, here we go. How to housebraek from the get-go.
They will have to empty their bladder immediately when they wake up, whether from sleeping all night or just a nap for awhile.
When he wakes, get him to where he is suposed to do his business.
When he goes where he is supposd to, praise him, and pet him. Make a big deal about what a good dog, smart dog etc.
Use a very pleasant voice to show enthusiasm.
Really let him know you like what he did.
They want to please you, and get it right so they get more petting and don't get fussed at.
They will have to have a bowel movement every time after they eat.
From a pet store, and maybe even Walmart carries it, get some Simple Solkution to scrub up where he has pooped and peed.
Even after you shamppoo a carpet etcm until you can't detect any odor, animals can still smell it, and they will go there again.
If you are scrubbing carpet, you will have to soak it enough to get down through the pad too, and since it has been in there awhile, you may have to do it more than once.
You can use Simple Solution in those steam cleaners you rent, and I use it in my Bissel carpet steam shampooer.
I use Simple Solution for other stains too, because it is the best stain remover I have found.
I even douse some of it on stuborn stains in the laundry.
It smell great.
It comes in a formula for dogs and one for cats, and one for both.
I use the one just for dogs.
When they need to have a bowel movement, they will start looking for a place first. Usually they will start sniffing, and sort of going around in a circle.
When he starts this, take him to where he is supposed to go. When he goes where he is supposed to, give the big praise and petting. Really make a big deal and brag on him. EVERY TIME he goes where he is supposed to until there are no more accidents in the house.
You can train him to go in a litter box in a laundry room or bathroom or somewhere.
They make a litter box for dogs now, and special litter for dogs.
When you see him loking for a place, and starting to squat, pick him up and put him where you want him to go.
Once you get him to go where he is supposed to and show him how pleased you are, it will be easier to get him there in time the next time.
This will take you a few days of watching and making sure he gets to where he is supposed to go, every time.
With the praise and petting, and a sharp "NO!" if he goes in the house, he will get the message.
When he knows and understands what it is you want him to dop, he will do it that way.
Putting their nose in it does nothing but traumatize the dog, and it is a filthy habit anyway. You sure don't want him to kiss you after his nose has been rubbed in poor.
Spanking is a no no.
I use time out for punishment.
Time out here is a half hour or so in the small bathroom, with n toys, and good scolding on the way, and they know they are being punished and it makes them ashamed of themselves.
Just like sitting a child in a corner.
It is hard to make a dog sit in the corner, although I did have a German Shepherd, and when she did something naughty, which was very seldom, I would tell her to go sit in a corner, and she would, with her nose to the wall, until I told her she could come out.LOL
Really all they want is to please you so they have a lot f love and petting, and make you proud of them.
They don't know what you want though, until you show them.
when you can afford them, you should get into an obedience class at Petsmart or Petco.
They have weekend group cklasses, and thy cover everything from walking properly on a leash, sitting and staying, and all the basic obedience you want.
In the meantime, you can find out when they clases are, and go down and watch.
You will pick up a lot that way.
You might check with your local Humane Society chapter.
In our's we have some certificates for reduced prices for neutering and spaying, and we give them to people, and they get the it done by a very capable Veterinarian, and the fee reduced by about 30%.
They may have a program like that in your area.
