Question
My boyfriend is moving to Florida and is going to leave me his 5 yr old boxer.  My only concern is he urinates on the floor when he sees me. I am the only person he does this with.  Will this stop once he comes to live with me?
Thanks,
Judy

Answer
Hi Judy;
You will probably have to housebreak him again, so he learns what is acceptable there, and the new house rules.
Just go about it like you wuld any age dog you are needing to housebreak. When he starts to go, take him to here he is supposed to do his business, and when he does it where he is supposd to doit, praise him and pet him, telling him what a good dog he is.
Scold when he does it indoors, and take him out. Tell him, "You do that out here".
It should come about in a few times.
When he knows he is scolded when he does it inside, and gets petted and praised when he does it outside, he will want the more positive reaction.
Just don't forget the praise, and be very generous with it.
They do like to dramatize their good points.
