toy poodle meets rawhide bone

My 5 mo old toy poodle swallowed a 2 inch piece of rawhide bone.  He seems okay and is still eating and is active.  Should I worry?

Hi Elesa,
He will probably pass it ok, but watch him to make sure he has regular bowel movements. If he strains, or acts like he is constipated, take him to the Vet or at least call and get advice.  Don't let him chew on any rawhide that he could possibly swallow. My dogs love rawhide too, but when it gets to be a small piece, I throw it away.  As I said, he will probably be ok, just keep a close eye on him.  It's not always damaging, but there have been cases where the rawhide was an obstruction.
