Looking for help with my year old Red Doberman.

Question
Hi... I have a year old Red Doberman that has recently started to regress in her
training. She is probably the most mild tempered, intelligent dog I have ever
had. I thought at about the 6 or 7 month old mark she was done using the
restroom inside the loft but she has started to recently do it again. Mostly it is
overnight but every once in a while it is right in front of you. I'm not sure what I
am doing wrong but I am feeling there has to be something. Also she is just too
crazy and all over the place sometimes, and I can barely get her to not jump.
Please Help ME!

Answer
Some dogs need to be reminded of their housebreaking periodically, so just crate her again at night and when you cannot watch her. Reinforce the praise when she potties outside or tells you she needs to go out.

Also, you might want to have her urine checked to be sure that she doesn't have a bladder infection that is causing this regression.

As to the wildness, that is puppy stuff, but she *DOES* need training! Dogs don't train themselves. Get her into obedience classes for a few months, and start practicing "Nothing in Life is Free" with her. http://k9deb.com/nilif.htm Dobermans are a working breed and need a job to do!
