indoor training and type of food

Question
I have a 8 week old yorkie and I would like to know how to indoor train him and what type of food I should feed him now.

Answer
Hi Trena.
I'm not 100% on what you mean by indoor training, but I assume you mean house training. Well I would try puppy pads or doggy litter. And a crate. Every time the puppy needs to "go" (after meals, naps, playing, and every two hours in the beginning), take him to the litter or pad. When you can't watch him put him in the crate. But not for too long at a time. As long as he gets enough time with you, don't worry about the crying. he's just not used to it, and you are NOT being mean.

As for food, feed hard food make for small breeds. Yorkies teeth tend to get bad because they are so small. Hard food helps with this. Soft food only adds to the problems. Also brush your dogs teeth. Right now, you can soak the food a little bit, but stick to the hard food. Just soak it less and less until he is used to completely hard food.

I hope I have helped, if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask.
