Question
i have read that yorkies don't get along well with other dogs and i guess that is true because when ever i play with my  12 old minpin my  4 year old  yorkie always gets jealous and tries to start a fight with my minpin. is there anything i can do to stop this madness ??

Answer
Hi Jojo;
Yep, chew hois little butt out and put him in time-out.
My friend's Yokkie gets along great with my 4 dogs.
He decided, when he came and saw a new dog here, that he was not going to allow that.
she doesn't train a dog, she babies it, and "asks" it to be nice, instead of correcting the little rug runt.
Mine get a lot of babying too., but they have to follow the rules, and I am the one that sets down the rules, NOT my dogs.
Most people that have little cursie dogs don't take them seriously, and think their aggressiveness is cute, because they are so little.
That is the only reason little dogs have a reputation for being brats.
Just like children that are not discliplined, dogs will do whatever they can get away with, and if they are not taught nice manners, they will act like house apes.
I don't spank or hit.
I look them in the eyes while I read them the riot act when they do something very bad, and tell them they go to time out, then I put them in the small batrhroom with no toys for about a half hour.
If they keep repeating the same bed behavior, the time-out time is extended.
After a few time outs, they decide it is in their best interest to mind.
I don't allow fighting!!!
All of mine knbow they are all loved, and while they will jocky to be first in line and get the lions share of the petting, thedy know better than to get nasty.
Max, my little Lhasa was more stubborn about that, and he would fly into Rowdy, my Australian Shepherd mix.
After a few time outs, he only has to be asked, in a stern voice, "Do you want to go to time out?, and he straightens up.
Rowdy has always babied Max, and treats him like he is Max's daddy. He doesn't like me to even correct the little jerk.LOL
A good obedience course would help you get control of your little critters, and teach you how to give the comands that get the results you want.
Training is the key. Raising animals as family pets is just like raising children, and they need good parenting.
I call myself mommy to my brats. they know I will do anything for them, but they also know they have to behave by the rules.
Petsmart and Petco stores have weekend obedience classes. You handle the dog, and a qualified trainer teaches the class.
I would take the most aggressive one, the one that starts the trouble. After you go to a class with that one, you can go home and go through the same class with the other one, on your own.
It is not hard to learn to get them to do just like you want them to behave, and the classes are fun as well.
By the time the course is into the second half, you should have some pretty well behaved little kids.
You don't say if theyt are males or female, but if they are not neutered/spayed, that can be some of the reason for some aggression. Especially if they are the same sax. There is more conpitition. But after that are out of the need to reproduce, the competition is less, and when they obedience training is added, you can get the most aggressive dogs under control.
Another source of help is animal massage.
I have used that for years as a training tool, and a lot of other things.
I ordered a video that taught me how to do the different massages.
You can go to this site and read about what can be done with the massages, and if you want one, you can order a video from there.
Massages works wonders on any animal.
