Male dominance in my bigger dog

Question
QUESTION: I have a 3 year old Lab Husky mix. He is a very sweet dog and has never shown aggression to me or my husband or kids. We had a 8 year old Eskimo Spits standard breed that was killed 2 years ago.  My lab/husky and the spitz were good buddies and played together, licked each other etc, however the bigger dog (lab husky) would attack him sometimes for no reason.  The spitz would fight back and it resulted in some blood shed (not much) sometimes. We have tried yelling at the bigger dog after it happens, putting him on a time out so to speak, telling him No, etc. After my spitz was killed by a car I was devastated. My husband bought me a new puppy (same breed) but he is a toy one. He is only 10 lbs and is now 1 and 1/2 years old. He is fully grown. Our bigger dog immediately liked him when we brought him home and licked him from head to toe. He was 9 weeks then. They play together, lick each other, the bigger one becomes upset if the little one goes out and he can't find him and he literally cries and whimpers for him. Well, about 6 months ago the bigger one started to attack the little one for no reason. Not always. Everything will be fine then he just snaps and it is horrible. He sounds like a wolf, he pins the little one down (and of course the little one is yelping) and it sounds like he is ripping him apart. We pull the bigger one of the little one and there are no marks, nothing. Other then the little one messed himself by both urinating and having a bowl movement on the floor. Not one mark though. Sometimes it takes almost 20 seconds to separate them but still no blood shed.  After this happens we tell the bigger dog NO and yell at him and look him in the eye and tell him "we are the boss, not you". He retreats and knows we mean business, so aggression towards us is not the problem. Why is he doing this other then sheer Alpha Male dominance and how can I control this?

ANSWER: are either of these dogs neutered? let me know.

QUESTION: No, neither one is neutered.  We were hoping to breed them each at least once, but I did tell my husband that I think maybe neutering them would help. Is this the problem.

Answer
Hello..and yes it is true neutering may help..but only if they are neutered before the age of 1 and a half. you may try neutering the younger dog and see if it stops the behavior. Otherwise, you are going to have to hire someone to come evaluate this for you. goodl luck
