KILLER DOG!

MY PEKINESE IS 3 AND IS SO MEAN HE WONT LET US PICK UP OUR OWN CLOTHES, HE BITES US OVER NOTHING, ITS COME TO THE POINT THAT WE HAVE TO LEAVE HIM IN HIS CAGE OR HE'LL TAKE OVER THE HOUSE! HE IS IN A CONSTANT BATTLE OVER WHOSE THE ALPHA MALE AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH I COULD NEVER GET RID OF HIM! PLUS HE'S PROBABLY BE PUT DOWN! I LOVE OUR LIL GUY BUT HE SCARE ME AND THE ONLY WAY TO PUT HIM IN THE CRATE IS TO PUT A TOWEL OVER HIS HEAD (WHICH TAKES A FIGHT) AND TRY AND GET HIM IN BEFORE HE SNAPS! AM I JUST A BAD DOG OWNER OR JUST LACK OF KNOWLEDGE? PLEASE HELP CAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! AND MY BOYFRIEND (WHO LOVES HIM TO) KEEPS GETTING BITTEN BADLY CAUSE WE DON'T WANT OUR DOG CESAR TO BE OUR OWNER! THANKS PLEASE HELP ASAP!!!!

This sounds like a tough case.  He is neutered?  It is all too common for owners not to take small dogs seriously.  Then the dog takes over the household.  

The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts.  Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog.  Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones.  You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat.
