Question
QUESTION: We adopted a poodle mix a few months ago from the pound.  He is doing wonderfully now, gained weight, house trained etc. but he has runny eyes that have a foul odor that I can't get rid of.  I have tried an eye wash from the vet, and two types of drops. If it is a yeast infection, will just feeding him plain yogurt help?  I live in France so can't buy any American products you might suggest so looking for something natural.  How about plain boric acid as an eye wash?

Thank you,
Pamla Schmitz

ANSWER: Hi Pamela
He may need a longer run of antibiotics. I would do a recheck through the vet or at least give him a call and let him know what's going on,.
Also, as much as I hate to say it, just because you get your food from your vet doesn't necessarily mean that it's good food or that there is not something in there that baby is allergic to.
Wheat, soy and corn are all triggers for allergies in dogs

QUESTION: OK, I will try everything you have suggested and let you know.  Im having my son bring some Tums from America for him also.
They have special food here for dogs that have allergies so will check that out as well. He is on the yogurt now and loving it.

'You could check the ingredients online for Tums and find something comparable there. I hope things settle for your baby it can be really frustrating to know they need something and just not be able to figure out what it is.
let me know what happens and hugs to your furbaby
