SMELLY TUNA LIKE DISCHARGE

Ok, we have Fergie who is about 4 months old.  She is a great dane.  Ocassionally when she gets spooked or what have you she releases this discharge. It smells really bad.  She immediately will "clean herself" but what is that?   Is that normal?

Where does the discharge come from? If it is from her vulva, she could have a case of puppy vaginitis and needs to be on antibiotics.

If it is from her anus, it could be that her anal glands need to be expressed. Either way she needs to be seen by the veterinarian. Your veterinarian can show you how to express her anal glands if that is the problem.
