my puppy skin

i bought a pitbull puppy about a week ago. she was sick so i took her in and they gave me a medicine for worms?? but i am concerned about her skin. her fur looks clumpy, under her belly has lots of dried skin coming off and she releases an odor that i cant get rid of by washing her. she scratches time to time. what do you think the cause is for her skin to be flaky and smelly?

It could be dermatitis, they get all kinds of skin rashes, pit bulls in particular are prone to them. It could also be mange or a staph infection> Take her back to the vet for a skin scraping to find out. I would do it soon. Some of these are contagious to people. Some require antibiotics and some just topical treatments. Better to be sure of your diagnoses than to have someone (like me) guess at it,
