My dog was just spayed yesterday, and now she is vomitting.  Is this normal?

Hi Lyeiesha,

When some pets return home after a stay in the hospital they may drink excessive amounts of water all at once and then vomit; if this appears to be happening the water should be limited to frequent smaller amounts.
Medications such as antibiotics or pain medications are common causes of vomiting after surgery.
Stomach upset from the anesthesia procedure is a potential cause of vomiting and will pass within a couple of days.

I wouldn't wait a couple of days though. You should call your vet, and tell him or her about the vomiting. Your vet is the best person to get medical advice from.
