new nursing dog

My White GErman shepherd just had pupies 5 days ago.She was pregnant with 7, she delivered 4, then had c-section to remove the 3 still born pups. All 4 survived pups doing well. Today she develops a new behavior that I don't understand. She keeps picking up the smallest pup out of the box, going to her dogloo to feed  and clean the pup seperately.Do you have any idea why does she do that?

I have never heard of a bitch doing that, and I would be concerned that it would get chilled being hauled around and away from the "nest". At this age she should still be unwilling to leave the puppies at all, and I always have mine set up so that they cannot leave the litter on their own anyway. The puppies should be kept around 90 degrees the first week.

Are you sure that she is feeding and cleaning it and not taking it somewhere to "dump" it? Dams will separate unhealthy puppies from the healthy ones and then ignore them.
