Shaking Dog

I have had my dog for about 7 years, but she just started to shake in a extreme matter. To physically see your dog shake is pretty scary. Well i took her to the vet and he told me not to worry about it. I was just wondering if maybe you know what could be causing it?

Dear Chelsea,

Thank you for writing to me.  You apparently suspect that your vet's answer isn't getting to the root cause of your dog's shaking and I therefore suggest that you seek a second opinion from a canine neurologist.

Shaking isn't normal, especially in an extreme manner.  She could be having thyroid issues, diabetic issues, brain issues, and a host of other conditions.  Do not take your vet's assessment of the situation if you are not comfortable with it.  This doesn't sound right and I do urge you to seek other medical opinions until you find out what's causing it.
