I know you cannot help medically but I have a female doxie that has a lump on her side. looks like it's in the milk gland. She did have a heat cycle in July and a false pregnancy. Could it be milk that is stuck in there? My vet is closed and wanted an idea what it might be. It does not hurt her in any way. If you have any ideas let me know. Waiting till Monday for the vet.

It sounds like some sort of tumor. Could be a fatty tumor.... or something worse. This does need to be checked out ASAP.

Bitches who are not to be used for breeding should be spayed before their first season as that cuts down the incidence of mammary tumors by something like 85%.
