Question
i adopted two boston terrier puppies (spayed & neutered) from a woman who says she's a rescue. she got them from an auction. were diagnosed with having bordetella after a culture that went into pneumonia. this has been the adoption from hell. they are on meds & the whole lengthy treatment regime. i have given them the absolute best care but this hacking is just hanging on like you wouldn't believe. can you tell me what puppy food would be best for boston terrier puppies (dob:8/20/08)that are recovering from pneumonia? i just switched from Maxximum (no dyes or fillers) which walmart will discontinue selling to purina one lamb puppy formula. after the expensive and still ongoing (they get xrays the 16th to see where they are in the healing process) vet bills i was in no hurry to run out and buy the most expensive food but having second thoughts. Please let me know if you think purina one puppy with lamb is just fine as well. thank you.

Answer
Michelle-

If I were wanting to build the best immune system possible, I would want to use a high protein no grains food, such as Wellness CORE, blue buffalo wilderness, or Taste of the Wild. I would not suggest purina, maxxium, or any of the grocery store/walmart brands at all.

In the end, although more expensive to buy, it will pay for itself in lest vet visits.

I hope they feel better, thank you for rescuing!
