AnswerHi Asim,
As far as I know, Chapati is a doughy bread-like food, it may be okay to use this food as a treat, but it's should not be the primary diet for a dog. It's not nutritionally complete, and might be the cause of your dog's weight problem.
A dog's diet should consist of: 40% meat (any kind of cooked meat) 30% vegetables (beans, carrots, broccoli, squash, white or sweet potatoes), and 30% grain or starch (pasta, rice, millet, barley, oatmeal, etc.)
Feeding your dog a commercially made dog food is the easiest way of giving your dog the complete nutrition he needs. If you must make your own dog food, follow a recipe, such as one of these:

If your dog doesn't gain weight no matter how much food you give him, he may have internal parasites which are also called "worms". That's just a guess, on my part. There are other conditions which could effect your dog's weight.
There are over the counter wormers you can buy, but the best way of treating your dog is to take your dog to your veterinarian to have him diagnosed. Your vet would require a stool sample, but then you would know exactly what kind of worms your dog has, and get the correct medication, at the correct dose.
Best of luck,
Patti
