UTIs/puppies

HI Karen,
I only want your advise of course. We took our female (beautiful) little girl pitbull puppy to vet reason possible uti. I work in medical field of (humans)and knew a urine sample would be good, anyway they put her on a antibiotic only been couple days and she looks like she feels miserable, her belly is not bloated or extended but still small accidents right when she comes in and empties her bladder. She sits and pees (alot)then comes in and a few minutes later pee's a little on floor. what would you do wit a few more days, add something else or go to a new vet?

It could be that she is on the wrong antibiotic for whatever bacteria she has. You might want to get another collection and ask to have it cultured to see if the antibiotic should be changed.

And then, of course, one more day might be all it takes to see improvement. ;)

One more thought... I once heard of an eight-week-old schnauzer puppy who had bladder stones. Unusual, but...
