Question
I just got my 4 month yorkie-poo on August 10,2009...the first day she barely ate..Her stomach is making a weird noise and has been since Thursday night. This morning, Friday she went to go urine but she wouldn't eat and her stomach is still making the noise. I'm feeding her IAMS, is this good for her? If not, can you recommend some food. How many times should she eat a day? 3 correct? She loves to follow me and she lays down a lot

Answer
Iams is a fine food, the most common with the highly valuable service dogs.  Those that bash it are poorly informed, subjective, or both.

If you make a sudden switch in diet, almost any food can cause problems.  Was she eating the Iams before?  If not, that could be the problem.  You could try a bland diet until she settles down.  Then slowly reintroduce the Iams over a week.

Bland recovery diet for dogs.

3 parts cooked rice, one part boiled hamburger or chicken, or cottage cheese. I think you can substitute boiled potatoes for the rice. Once in an emergency, we bought a plain baked potato from Wendy's.

This is meant for short time settling a dog's digestive tract. It is not the complete and balanced diet they need long term. I have seen it work.

It could be the stress of a new home.  Were it earlier in the week, I would confidently say wait a day or 2 and see.  Unfortunately, if she takes a turn for the worse, vets are hard to find and expensive over the weekend.  I hate to send people to the vet over nothing, but hate to see problems too.
