Maltipoo feedings

Question
Hello,
I have a 7 month old maltipoo named Kokis.  For the last couple of weeks, I had trouble with what exactly to feed him. My parents gave him table food(chicken breast, rice, carrots, and even tortillas),so now he doesnt want his puppy food. I started giving him the sames foods being that he was not getting sick, but just last week, I gave him beef and I think that made him sick.  He vomited three times and took him to Vet. Vet gave him amox and reglan.  He was doing just fine till today when he vomited again, only once, but its only 11:03 a.m. in L.A. Last night one of his teeth fell off also. My family and I are very attached to him up to this point, I cry when he gets sick and just can imagine him getting sicker.  I have bought him Solid Gold, Nutrish, and Beneful puppy food, but does not like it or I get nervous and change without giving him the chance to eat it.  What would you recommend that I feed him so he can grow up to be a health dog and I a happy companion?

Thank you
Kikey

Answer
The tooth falling out is probably just the beginning of him losing his puppy teeth.  Dogs lose their baby teeth the same way people do.

As far as food, many dogs cannot tolerate frequent changes in their diet; it gives them gastric upset.

The best suggestion I can give is to pick a good quality food (of those you mention, the Solid Gold is probably the best) and stick with it.  As he gets older, if you want to give him table scraps or people food, that's entirely up to you.  But make any permanent changes gradually.  Stopping one type of food cold-turkey one day and starting a new the next day is generally not recommended.
