Introductions

I have a 5 month old beagle and a couple days ago introduced a 7 week old jack Russell to our home. The beagle is currently biting the jack on his stomach and legs when they are on the floor together, if iam there the jack hides behind me and the beagle just licks him. so I keep having to separate them. Do you have any advice on how to handle this?

It may take a little more time.  Usually 2 young dogs enjoy rough housing.  Perhaps the beagle is too much for the JRT.  When the Beagle gets it down, give it an ''Ah, ah, ah!'' an doffer it a chew toy.  Before long, the JRT may accept the Beagle's play.
