dog with allergies!! nuvet helps; Benadryl canine dosage;

Hi- thank you for taking my question!!  I have a two year old french bulldog who has issues with regular dog food.  I was told by my vet to have him on HA food, i was advised by a dog trainer to attempt a more natural dog food called pinnacle.  I tried that and he seemed to be ok with it.  I also have recently moved and went from having hard wood floors to wall to wall carpet.  In the past three weeks i have noticed that he is licking his paws more, rubbing his body all over the carpet, when i checked him he had a rash all over his body.  I talked to the woman at the dog food store and she said that she doesnt think it is the food but something more environmental.  I am wondering what you think? Please help!!  Thank you for your time!

Hi Elise,  Yes, it sounds environmental.....
You can give him 1-2 mg of Plain Benadryl ( as per your vet) - MOST vets will allow 1-2 mg per pound of Frenchie....every 8-12 hrs.
Example - a 10 pound dog can have 10-20mg of Benadry -  ( SHORT term for a few days ...)
