Question
My Yorkie has started snoring al the time.  I have him at the vet 5 days ago and the started antibiotics, stating it might be allergies or bacterial infection.  It dawned on me about 10 days ago we bombed the house for fleas, and returned after 2 days.  A week later I washed him with Sentry's oatmeal flea soap.  What I am worried about is he allergic to all this or am I possible poisioning him?  Please advise, I am returning to the vet tomorrow for a checkup and I think he is only a little bit better.

Answer
Nola,

Yorkies can suffer from allergies.  I don't think that you are poisoning him.  If you bathed him with the flea soap for the first time it might be advisable not to use it again.  I have had Yorkies that were allergic to fleas themselves and each year they had to have an allergy shot.  As far as the snoring I wouldn't worry about it too much.  I have had many Yorkies that snored and it was never really a problem.  You didn't say why the vet put him on antibiotics so I am assuming he has some kind of respiratory problem.  Allergies can mimic respiratory problems so he may not need the antibiotics.  You are doing the right thing by taking him to the vet and my only other thought is that you should not worry so much.  You may want to inquire about getting him an allergy shot to see if that clears him up.
