She is 12 years old, airedale terrier, what is a lifespan and what do they normally die from?

Hi,
It really depends on the breeding of your dog. Most general rule is that the bigger the breed, the shorter the lifespan. I have seen toy poodles live to 20 years where as a German Sheherd only lived to 12 years old.
If your dog is in good health then she may just go in her sleep. I don't have a crystal ball and life holds no guarntees. Enjoy her while you have her.
