I want to know is breeding still possible for a dog his age? He has never mated before. Are there any risks? and also, what breed of dog is a sufficient mate besides other poodles?

Hello Jessica,
Your dog should still be able to sucessfully mate and sire puppies.   If you want to be sure your Vet should be able to check his semen to see what the sperm count is.
For the male, there aren't really any risks other than him becoming tired during the breeding process.  
You should probably get your dog checked out by a Vet first to make sure that he is healthy enough to sire puppies and that there isn't anything genetically off that could be passed to the puppies.  

As to what other breeds of dogs would mix nicely with Poodles, I found this website that has a list of several different Poo=X's that have cropped up lately.

Some of the dogs on this list are either larger or smaller, so be sure that the female that you choose is a compatable size to pair with your male.
