Poodle shedding

Question
My toy poodle is shedding clumps of hair. We keep seeing little clumps of hair on the floor. Do you know what could cause this, or have any advice on what we should do?

Answer
Hello Mark,
Poodles tend to shed a small amount and when they do it usually comes out in clumps that you are seeing on the floor.  The best way to help with this is to brush your dog about 2 times a week.

Sometimes a poodle will not really shed but will scratch bits of hair out when they have an itch or skin irritation.  Be sure that your dog doesn't have fleas or skin irritations that may be making her scratch.

I hope this helps you some.  If you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.
