Serious Skin and order problem

QUESTION: I have a red nose pit about 5 years old now, when she turned 1 she started to brake out, her skin would turn bright red and look swollen and have this very fowl smell to her like she was decaying her eyes get a yellowish green discharge to. First the vet said it was saricoptic mange then, treated her for that didn't work went back then he said it was allergies, again did what he said, still didn't work, this went on for about a 2 years and still to this day she has this problem. Can you please help

ANSWER: Hi Dorinda:  Ok, there are a few things you need to do:

Make sure she is eating a good Holistic Quality food - such as:

Innova, Wellness Formula, Eagle Brand, or Solid Gold...

If you don't have a food that is 98% grain free, then please find one of the ones I just mentioned.
Make the change over slow... Do 1/2 new food and 1/2 old food x 2 weeks.  Then, after the 2 weeks you can change over to the new food ...  
Many dogs have allergies to grains such as corn.


Next, Get some salmon oil - all natural - give 1 teaspoon per day of this oil.

Yes, she must have food and environmental allergens... Also, if she has some yeast you can give yoguart daily... The active kind like Activa brand-  it helps with the overgrowth of yeast...
