Question
QUESTION: hi i have a 15 week old red nose pitbull. he has developed this skin irritation that i cant identify or know how to find a solution to. they are bumps along his back or spinal cord and also his skin is flaking similar to dry or peeling skin. he is scratching it to the point of bleeding and it is very concerning to me. we are feeding him good quality food from petsmart and trying to keep his skin moisturized. please help me make him feel better. thank you so much for your time

ANSWER: Hi Jenny - what brand of food are you feeding your boy?
Also, are you giving any table foods?
Have you seen a vet for the problem?
Let me know...

QUESTION: we do not feed him table scraps. we might give him a little peice every once in a while but not regularly.i have not gotten a chance to see a vet yet. i was wondering if it was maybe the scented shampoo we use on him? or the flea and tick shampoo? we feed him nutro natural choice small bites dog food. my mom has a golden retriver and thats what she feeds him so thats why i got that, but if thats whats irritating his skin then by all means i will change that. is there anything i can put on it that will at least make it stop itching so he stops rubbing it raw and bleeding? thank you again and for your help and devotion.

Answer
Ok, I have some ideas for you ...See your vet if it gets worse...I sure hope we can fix this kid up..

Don't use any shampoo unless it is Doggie Oatmeal Shampoo.. Also, see if you can find Oatmeal condition/cream rinse...( only doggie shampoos...no human stuff)

Next, please get some Acidophilus ( 1 Billion CFUs), give him one per day, every day - hide it is cheese..

Also, get some salmon oil, give him 1 tablespoon per day - great for his skin.

Vitamin E - give (1) 150 IU per day --  excellent help for his general health / wellness.

Last, NuVET Plus - he will need 2 wafer treats per day - Will cost you about 1.10 per day - After 30 days, you can drop down to just 1 NuVET per day ... Keep him on this/ it will help him to fight off the allergies and build his immune system.  NOT sold in stores, All the other items are found in stores...except the NuVET... Call Joan now and order some / 1-800-474-7044 EXT 265 / Joan can explain the MONEY back guarantee on the NuVET wafers... YUM YUM, good.
Make sure you call now and she can get your order out today.

Tell her Marie sent you - use order code 81098. YOU need this code as they can't sell to the public without the breeder/vet code.

Good luck - Give me a report every week  ... at this e-mail.
I like to keep in touch.
