5 Week Old Pit Bull Puppy

Question
We just got a 5 Week old puppy and I am not sure what to be feeding him or he should be away from his mother; it is my understanding that the mother kicked the pups off her and that the person we bought him from said it be OK to take him.  I tried wet dog and he will not eat that; tried dry mixed with milk but could not get it soft enough; any advise be most appreciated. Also, we have 4 other dogs a Jack Russell Terrier, 2 Toy Fox Terriers and a jack russell & toy terrier mix and am also concerned with bring the puppy with them; I do not want my dogs hurt or the puppy hurt but have a hard time keeping everyone happy & healthy; this is the first pit bull we owned so any advise or recommendations on raising a pit bull would be most appreciated.

Answer
Kathy - OK, buy some puppy formula and feed him by syringe for a few days ... 5 cc every hour or two... After a day or two, put the formula in a dish and see if he will lap it up.  A few more days after that, put dry food in a dish and wet it with the formula ... Soak it for 10 minutes, it will get soft.. He should love it.

As for good nutrition, please get him onto NuVET Plus ASAP... He is not getting what he needs from mom... I understand some moms don't like the pup's teeth and they kick them off!!  Happens all the time.
He needs NuVET Plus Powder - this will help him to build up a strong immune system and proper leg/joint health.
Call Joan now, she can help you with the first order  - make sure you tell her you need the powder for this pup... YOU will mix it into his wet food... ( Wet canned or the soak mixed with formula)
1-800-474-7044  ext 265 ( Joan Harris ) / Tell her order code 81098..
YOU can't get this at any pet store...
Call Joan and she can get the order right out to you... Cost is about .55 cents per day per doggie.
Dogs under 8 lbs is only 1/2 a dosage, about .25 cents per day.
GREAT for all ages and stages of life.

Write to me and let me know how he does with the formula...
YOU can also give cottage cheese, low fat, about 3 tablespoons per day.  (x-tra calories for him)
