Question
i have a boy and girl pit bull. they are about 18 mo. and i am almost certain that my bitch is pregnant. i bought both as
puppies without any papers. is there any way i can go about getting them papers so that i can get papers for the pups when they are born?

Answer
No.  Kennel Club Registries require that both parents be registered for the puppies to be registered.  The whole purpose of "papers" is to track the lineage of the dog, sort of like a family tree.

There are 2 main registries for Pit Bulls.  UKC (United Kennel Club) and ADBA.  The AKC does not register Pit Bull Terriers.

Other than those two... There are "registries" that will register ANY dog, heck they will even register non-purebreds!  Like APR, APBR, and CKC they are BS.  They are worthless.  They just want the money you pay for the paper, but they mean nothing to anyone.  Remember- papers are NOT a mark of quality.  All Purebred Dogs should be registered (with a reputable registry like AKC or UKC), but just because they are registered and have papers doesn't mean they are good quality dogs.

Right now I would focus on finding good homes for the puppies.  People who will take care of them well, train them, and keep them for life.  I am not sure where you are located, but I can speak for Chicago, and we have TONS of Pit Bulls for sale around here, not everyone can even find homes for them.  This is because people are over-breeding them.  So after this litter, please spay mom.  Also, if she is pregnant you need to be feeding her high-quality puppy food, the pups inside her need the extra food, so let her eat as much as she wants.  You should also take her to the vet to make sure she is coming along ok.  Once the puppies are born, they will need nurse from mom for at least 4 weeks.  Then they need to be wormed and recieve their first shots from the vet.  Puppies cannot leave their litter and mom until 8 weeks of age, that is also a law.  They need mom and to learn how to be a dog from her.  Once they are born, it is ok to touch them and handle them gently for a few minutes each day, you want them all to get used to humans and being touched.  Good Luck, little Pitty Pups are a lot of work once they start walking around!
