Pit Bull Puppies and when to feed food

Question
We have 8 2 1/2 week old PitBull Pups and they are already getting teeth.  I've read about starting pups on food on other sites and they say to start at 3 1/3 to 4 wks that this is when they start getting teeth.  Are PitBull pups differant.  They are growing good and are a great weight.  Mama doesn't feed them but every 5-7 hours.  Is this all normal?  Please help.  Thanks, Jeri

Answer
Hi,
if mom is feeding them than let her, but at about 3-4weeks of age they can start eating fine textured solid food. Makesure that it is small kibbles so they do not choke on them. Pitbulls are no different. So if they are not being fed by their mother, you have to take some responsibility.

So here are a few suggestions:
-no cow milk
-solid dog food, (perhaps mix warm water in it as it makes the food soft to eat)
-make sure the food is small and edible for the small pups.
- let them sleep and eat.
-Also check if the mom has enough milk to keep feeding them

good luck, just search on the internet for caring for pups,

ask again if you have any questions
