Question
Hello. I have a 4 1/2 month old APBT that is in really good health. But about a few weeks ago I noticed he was scratching. Upon further inspection I noticed he had what seemed to be pimples on his body. He has no hair loss though. Vet checked him out and says this breed are prone to skin irritations like that. She gave us some medicated shampoo to use and it slowly seems to be working. But the bumps are still there. Any recommendations on what to do? I have him on Wellness for puppy in the morning and at night. Plus I give him a raw turkey neck at mid-day. I also give him a daily nuvet-plus tablet. I also add Animal Naturals puppy gold to his food. Everyone at the vets and at the park always comment on his coat and how healthy he does look. But I want those bumps/pimples gone. You can only notice them if you comb thru his hair. Any ideas?

Answer
Hi Israel:  Well, you are doing everything right!
NuVET daily should help with environmental allergens... The Wellness is a great food... ( you could change him over to Innova EVO) - has no grain / corns... I like Wellness, but Innova is my A+++ brand that I refer people to..

The turkey neck can go... I would give him salmon ( 100% natural) rather than the turkey necks... 1 teaspoon of Alaska Salmon Oil each day...

Sorry,
The NuVEt Plus will help over time... 90 to 120 days or more.
The Medicated shampoo sounds good too.

You are a Wonderful Pit Bull parent!!!
Keep up the good work.
