Chews for my lab

Question
I have a 12month old male lab that needs things to chew. I do give rawhide and he loves them and keeps him busy . But have now read they are not good for them. I have given my dogs over the past 30 years rawhide and never have had a problem.  Is there really a problem or is it just a worry not worrying about.

Answer
hello, i give all three of my dogs rawhides and bison knuckles all teh time to help keep there teeth clean and in good condtion, my dogs are a 3 year old female labrador retriver, 2 year old male jack russell terrier and female 7 month old boston terrier...all are fine with the hides/chews, its a matter of if the dog is swollowing whole chunks it can be a problem if they block in the digestive track....once rawhides get really small you can take them away I never do but some people do this to pervent them chocking.
