Question
QUESTION: hi i have a black labrador puppy about2 months and 13 days old and i wanted to ask that i am feeding him and on some home food and royal canin starter mix which one is better and how much of royal cannin can i give him and how many times a day as he is hungry every 3 hours or so and how do i know i am over feeding him
ANSWER: Hello congrats on the new baby your sure to enjoy his company over the years to come!

Feed him four times daily three times if you want or for puppies I normaly leave teh dish down and start a rutine for melas once the puppy is much older. Royal canin can be bought in puppy food I'm not sure if thats what your feeding, Royal canin is a top qauility food and I highly reccomend it..also wehn hes 14/16 months old you can place him on royal canin labrador retreiver food which is also a good reason to stick with the brand. Just be sure the type of puppy food being fed is ment for 6 week + weaned puppies and all is well. My expericae is you can not over feed a young puppy you can over feed a 6 month old or older puppy but not a baby like you've got and in my experiance I've raised three pups from 11 weeks, 7 weeks and 7 1/2 weeks so I think I know what I'm talking about lol. Just be sure to leave the water dish down at all times thou to save on him waking you up every few hours you can pick it up after his last evening meal before bed. Good luck with your new baby they are so cute at this age.

Answer
Hello again and your very welcome, I reccomend this diet from now until 14/15 months of age
http://www.royalcanin.ca/products/hn/maxi/puppy_en.php

a large breed puppy food is the best for  alabrador retreiver puppy, and I cant quite find the food your mentioning but it seems the puppy to be too old for the food your feeding here we are is this what your feeding? http://www.royalcanin.ca/products/hn/mini/baby_en.php    this is a weaning food but is ment for *Small breed puppies like yorkies/small terriers/toy dogs not for a growing large breed pup. Get him going on the large breed puppy food by royal canin he is more then old enough to be off any type of weaning kibble. Have fun with your new puppy...with a little time and effort he will soon be your very best friend...if he isnt already lol.
