Is is true that if a lab is not all one color then they are not pure bread labs?

very true, I reciently saw an online ad for purebred lab pups unpapered at full price after a few weeks of not getting rid of them the same advertiser lowered the price and called them lab/shepard crosses....they were trying to scam people into thinking the dogs were pure. These were all black with white on there chest...there ears were also arched out from there heads which isnt normal for lab puppies.
