my black lab is a year old and i rescused her as a baby i did not know about due claws,, can she have these removed and can this hurt her. Also she is sheddeding a lot  in the past few months, we just moved from longview texas to the woodlands texas the climintes are a little diffrent can this trigger a hair loss,,, she is feed purnia puppy food (heathy morsels). bathed once a week. with a gentle shampoo for puppys, brushed three times a week. and extericesed regualar. she up to date on her shots, has all the engeery in the world,, she is a happy puppy but iam concerned about the shedding.

Dew claws are commonly removed from new born puppies.  At a year old, it could be done, but would require anesthetic.  Talk to your vet.

I would switch over to adult chow.  Purina is OK.  You may hear how horrible most dog chows are, but I think much of that talk comes from people selling more expensive chow or the ones they has convinced.
