feeding a Black Lab

Question
Hi, my husband recently agreed to take a Black Lab puppy that a woman was giving away. When he picked the dog up we were in shock at the emaciated state of the puppy. He appears to be healthy just very underfed. We were told he is 10 months old. How much should we feed him in the beginning to get him to a healthy weight, what is a healthy weight for him, and after we attain that weight how much and how often should we feed him to maintain a weight for him to grow at?

Answer
Hello

Ok lots of questions, Well first congrats on rescuing the poor puppy chances are she was giving him away because she couldnt afford him. Does he have his first two vaccines? Take him into the vets for a full check up and deworming and for his booster vaccine if he is in need of it you cna ask them about good brands and how much to feed.... but for some good brand reccomendations please see my webpage...all the good quaility kibbles list the feeding amounts on the side since he is underweight you could feed him the amount for his Ideal weight
