Question
I have a blk female that is going on 11 months and has not had a heat cycle and a male 14 week old y. lab that tries to mount us (humans) and has tried it with her. What does this mean? Isn't he to young for this behavior? When will she come into heat? Is there always blood with a heat cycle, have heard that females can have heat cycles without bleeding is this true? I am concerned....

Answer
Hello candy and thank you for your questions,

This is odd but it is possible for it not to happen until next month...my female cycled at 10 months for the first time, I would take her in for an exam eitherway just to be sure she doesnt have any sort of posible caners or tumars inside her reproductive tract that may be causing there to be no heat cycles...sadly it happens. There can Not be heat cycles without bleeding for the first four to five days the  red dischare is heavy flowed after that time it will start to fade to pinkish then yellow once it goes yelow she is receptive to the male and can be bre, the heat cycle lasts 10/14 days and in large dogs seems to be once a year.No the yellow male isnt too young for this behavier male dogs mount things even as early as 6 to 7 weeks of age its normal, thou if he is mounting peoples legs then he is one of the highly driven males that are regual problem dogs in the household until nuetered thou it sounds like your planning on breeding as the female hasnt been spayed yet this isnt an option for you.
