QuestionMy golden is 7 months old and has started chewing holes in the middle of my carpets. I have no idea why. It started with the edges of the carpet about a month ago, and now she has graduated to the middle. I've tried to keep her away from the areas like covering the holes but when I finaly think she has stopped, she does it again. I could just cry. I never had a golden that did this. I'm going to crate her again for a couple of months to see if the bad habbit will stop, but I need to know what is causing this condition.
AnswerCrating is likely the best answer. There aren't enough details for me to say why it is happening. I am sure boredom is a big factor. She maybe finding old spills or something. You could try steam cleaning the carpet to eliminate anything attracting her. I hope you don't have to replace it.
I knew one little dog that ate the spot the sun shown on.
