Severe change in behavior

Question
We adopted our 5-year old GR from a Rescue about 8 months ago. He loves car rides and used to do so wellin the back seat. he would sit or lay quietly looking out the window or staring straight ahead. We moved 400 miles from our home 2 months ago- Travis rode in the back seat the entire 12-hour trip, and was WONDERFUL!! No sedation needed, with frequent stops, time for walks, play, etc. Shortly after we arrived in our new home, car rides are TORTURE!! He barks out the windows, a very high-pitched "help" or distress sounding bark, he paces in the back seat, tail at attention..He whines and appears overall very anxious- he was never like this before. The vehicle is the same, back seat is the same with soft covers, etc. I have experimented with radio on/off, windows down part-way vs, whole way- I can't figure it out. he loves the walks in the new area, good with our new neighbors and friends, has adjusted well with eating, routine, etc- but this is FAR from how he was when traveling  back home. This behavior literally started out of the blue on a short trip about a month after we arrived and has been this way ever since- from one pleasant extreme to the other- I hate to see/hear him so obviously distressed- any thoughts? Thanks so much..

Answer
well your dog just seems to be a little home sick, with all the new sights and smells around him.if you keep taking him for rides he should get used to the new environment .try just talking to him when he starts his whimpering and barking, and just tell him NO when he starts again. he should get the hang of normal car rides again. *hope i helped*        ~Madison
