my golden retreiver is 9 weeks old, he does not like top eat dry puppy food , I tried to give it in different forms like ,giving as dry food or mixing it with water, he just doesnt like the smell of it. Also he craves for the home cooked food like rice , chicken, yogurt;fruits like mangoes , jack friut, banana. He used to like egg (yolk)but now he doesnt. My question is will home cooked food and friuts harm my puppy in anyway and is he missing valuable nutrients which are in puppy food?

Answer
Home cooked food is fine, but you may want to give a canine vitamin supplement.  Dogs have different nutritional needs than humans, and dog foods are formulated to meet these needs.  If he's not eating any dog food, he's not getting the required vitamins.

Whether a person feeds their dogs human food, dog food, or anything else is a personal choice.  I will say that if a dog gets hungry enough, it will eat whatever is available, (dogs are scavengers; take for instance the wild dogs that live in the poor areas of some countries or wander loose in the streets.)  If you decide you want to feed your dog regular dog food, you would have to be prepared to play a waiting game with him, waiting him out until he's hungry enough to eat the dog food.
