Skin Problem

Question
Hi, My english bulldog is 14 months old and in good health and great shape. The only problem we have is that recently he seems to have developed a few small sore patches on the back of his neck. They seem to be crusty like an old scab with a small amount of hair loss. I have applied some Sudo creme (nappy rash Cream) on the effected area.  He had his booster jab last week and the vet did see one of the spots but wasnt concerned,I didnt actualy notice that he had more than one spot until today. They dont seem to bother Reggie. Any ideas on what they might be or any ointments that we should apply.  Should i take he back to the vets for a skin scrape.  Many Thanks Paul & Anna

Answer
Hello Paul -
Glad to see Reggie is doing so well.  I am wondering if he has some environmental allergies... Also, food allergies as well.
Make sure the little guy is on a good food.  Something that is low in grain and fillers .  Innova Evo is a good one... Go to the pet store and see what they have for low grain or grain free.  Reggie could have developed an allergy to corns/corn meals.

Next, I would get some hot spot spray.... NuVET Plus makes a great holistic spray - look for it under shampoos/   8 oz NuVet Hot Spot Treatment Spray

A good supplement - NuVET makes a great one and will ship all over the world..  We are made in the USA.
NuVET Plus is a treat wafer skin supplement... Yum Yum good and helps to cure hot spots and rashes.

Tell them Marie sent you from The Doggie Chalet Hotel.

Last, you can start him on some vitamin E capsules.
I would give one per day: one (150 IU) per day..  Vit E works wonders... Ask your vet about this if you are unsure.  Many VETs do not have much knowledge in regards to vitamins and supplements...

BEST wishes on all!
