Question
Hello,  I have to boxer the female, Venus,is 2yr and 3 months, she is fawn and spayed and she has a small opening in her mouth, cleft, very small. My male , Aeris is  2 year and 4 months old , intact and brindle.Since i adopted them she was 4 week he was 8 week, they lived together in peace. Eat together sleep together play and stay with me and my husband in front the tv or in the bedroom, they have their beds and  when my husband go to work very early in the morning they jump in bed with me. last week we came home and as usual let the dogs out of the cranes,Venus was acting very frustrated , walking around in a state of alert, as soon we sit in the sofas, she attacked Aeris in a very bad way and Aeris did not back up , actually he attacked her back. Since than  the situation is bad ,they are separated and when we try again to put them together she start the fight. We already schedule to fix Aeris , but I am afraid This will not fix the problem in full. Please Help..I liked my dogs together and happy again
Thank You

Answer
The female Boxer is more aggressive than the male.

Also, she is fixed and his is not, and might be trying to mate with her regardless- instinct is instinct.. and she will fight with him to let him know she does not want him.

Also, she is exhibiting "alpha" dominance and he is challenging it, not relenting.

This is ongoing.

What you and your husband need to do is get a horn, maybe a bike horn, or loud whistles, and each and every time she attacks him and they fight, each time she is growling and showing signs of aggression, blow the whistle or honk the horn and verbally reprimand them in a stern voice using easy to understand commands.

You and your husband should decide on the commands and stay true to them.

Separate them, place each in their crates for 15 minutes as punishment.

Continue this religiously.

Within a few weeks you should have the situation under control.
