i have a very loving 13month old boxer bitch.she loves lots of fuss and cuddles and is very playful with all the family.we have had her since she was 10 weeks old,and has always been the perfect pet.she has never been aggressive towards any human or other dog esspesially members of our family,but yesterday she growled at my 11year old son when he was giving her a cuddle this is very unlike her.she does growl and bark when people walk past our house but never goes towards them.do you think this is a 1 off.

She might have had a bad day-- just as we often do ourselves.

Or, he might have hurt her without realizing it and she reacted with a growl which is a warning signal.

There is no way to know or determine the growl since it was one time and an isolated incident.

Verbally reprimand her when you hear her growl at him or any family member immediately.
