Question
Hello Jannie,

My 5 1/2 yr old baby has been recently diagnosed with lymphoma.  She had her first round of chemotherapy on Friday and this week, we have seen a completely different dog.  Finding the cancer was a long process because our puppy has some mischievious tendencies!  She started getting sick in December and I told my husband that she ate something because when she threw up, she would hack like she was trying to hack something up.  We took her to the vet and he put her on Pepcid AC and told us to come back in 2 weeks if it continues but that we needed to give it time to work.  Well, it didn't work and an X-ray should that our dog ate something that was now stuck in her esophagus.  She had surgery in the beginning of February and she stopped throwing up for a about 2 weekd and then all of the sudden it got really bad.  We went for ultrasound (which the doctor said she would be shocked if it turned out to be cancer), and then an endoscopy in which they found our baby's stomach completely ulcerated and we started chemo before the results of the smear confirmed on Monday.
Monday I cried a lot but then I started doing lots of research on the matter.   Most of my research shows that boxers do not ever go into remission yet so many other breeds do.  I have researched K9 Immunity Plus, Only Natural BSST Formula, K9 Critical Care, Genisis Resources CAS Option, Nu-Pet Canine Wafer, MUSH, Pet Alive, ES Clear, Only Natural Pet Immune Strengther.  I guess what I am wondering since not many boxer owners have written any reviews on how wonderful these products are, would it be a waste of time and money to try any of these in correlation with the chemotherapy that Isabelle is on?  I want ot give her the best chance at great quality of life and I am willing to spend some extra money but I am just not sure if what I am finding is a scam.  Will adding holistic treatment help?

Thank you in advance for your honest opinion. Izzy just means so much to me and my husband.

Thank you,
Lisa

Answer
I think those foods are fine because they do not contain glutens and by-products, etc.
