Question
I have a 12 week old flashy fawn Boxer puppy. In the last week or so her coat is turning white where it was fawn, mostly on the back of her neck. but also on her back and sides. The pups Mom is a flashy fawn, and the dad is a reverse brindle. Is there reason for concern?

Answer
He is only 3 months old and still changing.

It is not uncommon for changes in color and other characteristics when growing, just as in our human children.

Apparently, the flashy white is extending more than born with. I have seen puppies get darker or lighter, end up with white where there was none at birth, loose white too; especially being born with a white streak down the nose and face- loose it entirely as it never was there.

As long as his vet gives him a clean bill of health, just accept his changes and if you feel the white is in places (such as back) that don't normally belong, as your vet.

He could have a condition causing the loss of pigmentation of the hair- but would be rare.
